Vinegar bag on the shower head
Tie a polythene bag of white vinegar around a shower head clogged with hard water and leave it overnight. The scale dissolves and the spray pattern comes back. Run it hot for a minute before you use it.

Tap aerator, cleaned not replaced
When the tap sputters, unscrew the mesh at the tip, soak it in vinegar for an hour, and brush it clean. Almost every tap declared broken by a household is actually just a blocked aerator.
GaadiTilt the scooter when petrol runs out
Fuel light on and the pump is 2km away? Lean the scooter hard to the left for a few seconds, then start. It pushes the last bit of petrol in the tank towards the outlet. Enough for a kilometre or two.

Revive stale bread over steam
Hold day-old pav or bread over the steam of boiling water for ten seconds a side. The crumb softens and it tastes fresh again. Eat it the same hour — steamed bread goes hard faster than it did before.
